About

This is a record of an attempt at adopting a polyphasic sleep pattern.

My initial chosen pattern is a cross between Uberman and Dymaxion – 20-minute naps every six hours.

Some info about the conditions under which I’m attempting this, for completeness’ sake:

I’m a high school student, out of the house twelve hours a day on weekdays (0630 to 1830), thus the need for a slightly modified pattern. One of my four naps takes place on a train; another wherever I can find a bit of empty floor at school; and the other two at home.

Before starting, I slept about eighteen hours a week, but I followed no particular pattern day-by-day.

I’m not planning to stop or even significantly limit my caffeine intake at present, as caffeine usually has little effect on me if I actually want to sleep (as opposed to giving me a boost to stay awake if I need it).
